For everyone asking, Chester is still very much here, Crumble just loves to hog the limelight, he’s just enjoying a slower pace of life these days.

Chester, you are clever, dramatic, handsome and just slightly too aware of how good-looking you are. You’ve mastered the art of acting absolutely starving 14 minutes after dinner, taking up 97% of the bed, and living like the centre of this household… which, to be fair, you are although crumble is climbing the ranks 😂

Every staycation garden needs security… and Chester takes that personally

In amongst all the stress of the car accident, we’re heading off on a @pawsandstaytravel inspection in Northumberland today, and honestly I think this little supervisor is more than ready for the job. He’s been very on edge since the crash so a little change of scene feels very needed right now 🤎

Chester is already prepared to patrol the boundaries, inspect the sniff spots, and make sure the garden meets his very high standards!

Crumble on the other hand takes the job of making sure the interior is up to her comfort level! 😂

Bit of a car update: Our Kuga has been released from the police forensics storage and should be with the accident garage the insurance has allocated today and then 🤞🏻on Wednesday we should be able to collect the rest of our things from her. I do now have a courtesy car, do I really want to drive? Not 100% sure how I feel but I drove her home and I can’t lie I was very overly aware! I think only time with help regarding being confident driving again. The dogs are yet to be in a car yet so that will be another obstacle to tackle but not today!

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind week, the crash sent me into a big flare, and dealing with insurance/police has been exhausting.

The driver hit us, drove off, ditched the car, and fled the scene. The police currently still have my car at a forensics compound while they investigate. (I should be getting an update from them soon) they did give me some information at the scene but I think I was so shocked I can’t really remember what they said!

It’s also looking like she’s going to be a write-off and I’m genuinely heartbroken. I know it’s “just a car” but she was our little adventure wagon, dog trips, muddy paws, the lot. We’ve been so many places with her! 💔

Thank you for the love and understanding. We’ll be back properly when we’ve caught our breath and dealt with all the admin but give your pups an extra squeeze from us today. 🐾

@platinumpetfood semi-moist lamb kibble is a lifesaver because I can chop it into tiny bite-sized bits for easy chewing but same goodness, just kinder on a sore mouth.

He has been such a good boy!

Crumble and I had the loveliest stay at @the_snuggery_kent it’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, pop the kettle on, and get comfy.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like a proper little hideaway, there is a private, picture-perfect entrance, a cosy open-plan space with a snug seating area and dining spot, and a wood-burner style stove that makes evenings feel extra “snuggery” 🔥✨

Kate is an excellent host, and The Snuggery sits within her garden with an enclosed outdoor space that’s shared between both houses and available for guests to use. It’s a lovely little bonus, but it may not be the best fit for very curious dogs, and it isn’t suitable for people-reactive dogs.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like a proper little hideaway, there is a private, picture-perfect entrance, a cosy open-plan space with a snug seating area and dining spot, and a wood-burner style stove that makes evenings feel extra “snuggery” 🔥✨

Kate is an excellent host, and The Snuggery sits within her garden with an enclosed outdoor space that’s shared between both houses and available for guests to use. It’s a lovely little bonus, but it may not be the best fit for very curious dogs, and it isn’t suitable for people-reactive dogs.

9. Take the pressure off “good walks” some days it’s just fresh air and vibes.
10. Stop comparing your dog to other dogs, they’re not behind.
11. Romanticise your mornings: tea, lead on, little trot to nowhere special.
12. Do the boring stuff first (nails, brushing, ears) so life stays easy.
13. Teach “place” and watch your house feel peaceful again.
