We recently stayed at the newly renovated Pottery Lane Barn @ Pottery Lane Farm a relaxing, luxury dog friendly barn conversion on a secluded farm minutes outside of Ripon, North Yorkshire.
What to expect at Pottery Lane Barn
Pottery Lane Barn has a old yet luxury feel as soon as you step inside the double oak glass doors.
Leanne & David have renovated the barn to the highest standard with brand new soft furnishings and stunning new kitchen which gives it an equally stylish yet comfortable feel. The attention to detail in the decor is stunning, and the comfortable furnishings made for a truly relaxing stay.
Upon entering the Barn we were meet with this a lovely chalkboard message welcoming the pups and us!
The welcome pack that greeted us was such a lovely touch! Filled to with local produce, including freshly made fruit scones, apple juice from the farms orchard, local mini jams and chutney to go with the cheese and crackers that she also left for us!
The welcome pack didn't stop there! Leanne had also filled the fridge for us with milk, butter, and a bottle of sparkling which was a real highlight.
For the Pups, the treat tub was filled with Sausages along with a selection of Chews which went down a charm. Chester and Crumble would not stop sitting in front of the table until I handed over the section to be inspected and carefully selected from, which enjoyed outside on the patio!
What Do I Need To Pack?
The Barn is probably one of the only places we've stayed that really is fully equipped!
The Kitchen is a charming country style, which comes with everything you could possibly need (and I really mean that! Leanne has thought of everything).
There are glasses for every drink including plastic ones safe for the Hot Tub! Denby Dinner wear fills the cupboards which is perfect if you planning a dinner party while you stay. Every utensil you could need, can be found in the drawers along with condiments for cooking in the cupboards. Cleaning products are also available including bin liners and dishwasher tabs.
In terms of equipment there is two integrated fridges with a freezer, built in dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine (With capsules and capsule guide)!
The six person wood dining table is within the living area but there is also a breakfast bar at the other side of the large island which is a great dining option too.
The living area is cosy and the sofas are positioned around the wood burner, perfect for the cold autumn/winter nights. Both have gorgeous knitted throws perfectly for cuddling. There is also a large smart TV on the wall, a games cupboard under the stairs and a Bose music speaker.
Pottery Lane Barn is a 3 bedroomed property that sleeps up to 6 people. They are just as equip as the Kitchen.
There is a generous Master Bedroom with grand oak king bed, a large oak wardrobe and dressing table. Both the other bedrooms are located up a set of stairs either side of the living area. The second bedroom has a divan double bed with a chest of drawers and a hanging area for clothes. The final bedroom has a single metal bed with a pull out trunk.
All the bedrooms are made with crisp luxury white bed linen, beautifully furnished and stylishly finished with unique pieces of furniture and decor.
Pottery Lane Barn has two bathrooms in the property both of which are located on the ground floor. They are both so luxurious I struggled to choose which to use when we stayed! (Yes before you ask I did use both!) I just had to have a soak in the roll top bath!
Both bathrooms have a certain tranquil feel to them with Bath House Cumbria fragrances creating a spa like feel. Both bathrooms are fully supplied with bathroom products including: hand soap, hand lotion, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner and body lotion with a bath soak for the tub.
The first bathroom is nearest to the living area and features the roll top bath!
The second bathroom is the ensuite to the master bedroom, this bathroom has a large natural stone walk-in shower, which is separated from the WC with frosted glass.
Both Bathrooms have large fluffy white bath sheets to dry off in!
Provided Dog Essentials
Leanne provided everything needed for the dogs staying too! Pottery Lane Barn was equipped with:

As a owner of two Great Danes, Leanne definitely knows what dog owners need for Pups to enjoy a stress free staycation.
Garden & Hot Tub
In keeping with the relaxing qualities of the barn, the outdoor area features a large oak gazebo with tiled roof, a wooden seating area and a 6-person Hot Tub that you can enjoy all year round.
The enclosed garden made it a perfect area for the dogs and the dogs loved it. They raced around the shrubs and lay on the patio while I relaxed in the Hot Tub!
Surrounding Walks
Pottery Lane Farm is located just 3 miles outside of Ripon along traditional country lanes. The surrounding walks were breathtaking, and it's easy to see why Chester & Crumble loved them so much. Although we didn't get to explore as much as we'd hoped the picturesque views made it impossible not to feel a sense of peace and tranquillity while walking through the stunning countryside. One of the walks we did take was straight from the doorstep of the Barn to the village of Littlethorpe.
Final thoughts
Overall, I cannot recommend our stay at Pottery Lane Farm enough. It's clear that Leanne and David put a lot of love and care into creating a beautiful and welcoming space for their guests, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to relax and unwind.
Pottery Lane Barn is a true gem, and soaking in the hot tub the wall lit with twinkly lights is an experience that will stay with us long after our stay has ended. Thank you, Pottery lane Farm, for a wonderful staycation. We will definitely be back!
